Performance validation checks how a plant actually runs against the targets agreed for it — typically yield, product quality and cycle time. Mechotech carries out post-installation performance trials and documented validation test runs, so that the results are recorded and can be reviewed with you.
The same work can start a practical optimization step. Where the measurements show a gap or an opportunity, our engineers recommend improvements to parameters, sequence or equipment use. Results depend on the plant, the raw material and the data available, and no outcome is promised in advance.
What This Service Delivers
- Post-installation performance trials
- Documented validation test runs
- Results compared with agreed targets
- Operator involvement and training on SOPs
- Documented results with recommendations
- Optimization review of cycle, solvent and utilities
- Re-check against the same targets after changes
- Scope confirmed after reviewing your plant and targets
1What Performance Validation Involves
Validation is built around targets that you and Mechotech have agreed, and is documented so that it can be reviewed later.
- Performance trials: Operating the plant under defined conditions and recording the results against the agreed yield, quality and cycle-time targets.
- Documented test runs: Validation protocols and test runs are documented before formal handover, so that the results can be reviewed with you.
- Operator involvement: Your operators take part in the runs, which supports training on the standard operating procedures.
- Documented results: Results are compared with the agreed targets, with observations and recommendations.
2From Validation to Optimization
Where results fall short of a target, or where the plant could run more efficiently, the findings point to areas worth reviewing:
- Extraction cycle, solvent-to-solid ratio, temperature, vacuum and agitation settings.
- Filtration and concentration stages that limit throughput.
- Solvent recovery performance and solvent losses.
- Steam, cooling and electricity use.
- Batch-to-batch consistency.
3Typical Workflow
- 1. Targets: Agree the targets and the basis of measurement — yield, quality, cycle time and any others that matter to you.
- 2. Baseline data: Collect batch records, readings and utility data for the plant as it runs today.
- 3. Trial or test run: Run the plant under agreed conditions and record the results.
- 4. Analysis: Compare results with the targets and identify gaps and bottlenecks.
- 5. Results: Share the documented results and recommendations with your team.
- 6. Improvement and re-check: Where changes are made, results are checked again against the same targets.
4Where It Fits With Our Other Services
Performance Validation & Optimization draws on two existing Mechotech services. Process Optimisation covers deeper study and implementation of improvements on an operating plant. Validation & Documentation covers equipment records and qualification support documents. You can request validation on its own, or alongside either of them.
5What We Need From You
Sharing the following helps us scope the work:
- Plant or process name, and the Mechotech project reference if you have it.
- The targets agreed for the plant — yield, quality, cycle time or others.
- Batch records, yields and cycle times.
- Solvent consumption and recovery data.
- Utility data — steam, cooling, electricity.
- Quality results and specification targets.
- Any known bottlenecks or downtime.
