Mechotech delivers a complete, turnkey peptide synthesis and purification line — from solid-phase peptide synthesis through preparative chromatography, concentration, lyophilisation and solvent recovery. The range covers laboratory-scale automated synthesisers, GMP industrial single-channel synthesisers, preparative and simulated-moving-bed (SMB) HPLC, dynamic axial compression columns and chromatography media, industrial rotary evaporators, freeze dryers and acetonitrile recovery systems. Each stage is engineered to work together, so a peptide, API or high-value natural-product molecule can be taken from synthesis to purified, dried final product on matched Mechotech equipment.

Manufacturing Process

Peptide Synthesis

Solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) assembles the sequence — laboratory automated synthesisers for research, or industrial single-channel reactors (10 L–5000 L) with a cleavage unit for GMP manufacturing.

Crude Recovery

The crude peptide is cleaved from the resin and recovered, ready for downstream purification.

Preparative Purification

Preparative and semi-preparative HPLC — or continuous dual-column / SMB chromatography for difficult separations — refines the target to high purity with high recovery.

Columns & Media

Dynamic axial compression columns packed with the right stationary-phase media (RPC, IEX, HIC, Affinity, Protein A, Chiral) deliver the required resolution at scale.

Concentration

Industrial rotary evaporators remove organic solvent and concentrate the purified fraction under vacuum at low temperature.

Lyophilisation

Freeze drying / lyophilisation converts the concentrate into a stable, high-quality peptide powder.

Solvent Recovery

A closed-loop acetonitrile / solvent recovery system reclaims spent mobile phase to high-purity grade for reuse, cutting solvent cost and waste.

What is simulated moving bed (SMB) chromatography used for?

SMB and dual-column cyclic chromatography run continuously and counter-currently, which lowers solvent consumption and raises productivity and recovery for difficult, high-value separations such as isomers, chiral compounds and premium natural-product actives.

Why include an acetonitrile recovery system?

Preparative peptide HPLC consumes large volumes of acetonitrile. A recovery system distils and dehydrates the spent mobile phase back to high-purity, low-UV-absorbance grade for reuse, dramatically reducing solvent cost and waste.
