Nutraceutical & Botanical Extraction Plants

Mechotech designs and manufactures turnkey nutraceutical and botanical extraction plants for producing standardised, plant-based extracts — engineered around the marker-compound consistency that dietary-supplement, nutraceutical, and pharma-adjacent ingredient buyers require.

A nutraceutical or botanical extraction plant covers the same core solvent-extraction machinery train as our general herbal extraction plants, engineered instead around standardisation to a declared marker-compound specification. Built in SS 316L with integrated solvent recovery, PLC-based automation, and full documentation, each plant is delivered as a commissioned, performance-verified turnkey system.

Manufacturing Process

1

Raw Material Preparation

Botanical raw material is authenticated, tested for moisture, and milled to a uniform particle size to maximise solvent contact before extraction.

2

Solvent Extraction

Milled material is extracted with food- or pharma-grade solvent (alcohol / aqueous) in closed jacketed SS 316L extraction tanks (extractors) under controlled temperature and multiple cycles to maximise recovery of the target actives.

3

Filtration

The extract (miscella) is clarified through a plate-and-frame filter press followed by cartridge polish filters.

4

Concentration & Solvent Recovery

The miscella is concentrated in a falling-film / vacuum concentrator (evaporator) with integrated solvent recovery through the condenser return system.

5

Purification, Isolation & Standardisation

The concentrate is purified, the target actives isolated, then assayed against the declared marker-compound specification and adjusted before drying.

6

Drying & Quality Control

The standardised extract is spray- or vacuum-dried, then released after assay, residual-solvent, heavy-metal, microbial, and moisture testing.

Applications

  • Dietary supplement and nutraceutical formulation
  • Standardised botanical ingredient supply
  • Pharmaceutical-adjacent ingredient manufacturing
  • Functional food and beverage ingredients
  • Export to regulated-market ingredient buyers

Key Features

  • GMP-Compliant SS 316L Construction

Electropolished SS 316L product-contact surfaces with CIP operation between batches.

  • Standardised to a Declared Specification

In-process and batch-release assay hold the finished extract within its declared marker-compound specification.

  • Closed-Loop Solvent Recovery

Integrated recovery returns solvent per batch, cutting operating cost and supporting compliant discharge.

  • Integrated Drying

A matched spray/vacuum dryer produces a free-flowing, low-moisture powder ready for encapsulation and blending.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a nutraceutical extraction plant?
A nutraceutical or botanical extraction plant is turnkey machinery for producing standardised plant-based extracts — using solvent extraction, filtration, concentration, and standardisation to a declared marker-compound specification — for dietary-supplement, nutraceutical, and pharma-adjacent ingredient manufacturing.
What is the difference between a nutraceutical extraction plant and a herbal extraction plant?
The two terms describe closely related machinery. Mechotech's herbal extraction plant range covers the broad spectrum of medicinal and traditional herbs. This nutraceutical & botanical extraction plant range is engineered around the same core process, with a focus on standardising extracts to a declared marker-compound specification for dietary-supplement and nutraceutical formulation. Botanicals with both herbal and nutraceutical demand — including ashwagandha, moringa, ginseng, aloe vera, and turmeric — are listed under our herbal extraction plant range; see that range for the specific herb page.
What is a standardized botanical extract?
A standardized botanical extract is one manufactured and assayed to a declared, consistent level of a target marker compound, batch after batch — as opposed to a general herbal extract without a fixed specification. Mechotech's plants integrate in-process and batch-release assay to hold extracts within their declared specification.
What is the difference between a nutraceutical extraction plant and a curcumin extraction plant?
A curcumin extraction plant is purpose-built for one specific botanical — purifying and standardising curcuminoids from turmeric. Our nutraceutical & botanical extraction plant range instead covers the broader class of standardised botanical extracts across many source plants. If curcumin or turmeric is your specific target, see our dedicated curcumin extraction plant page.
How do I set up a nutraceutical extraction plant?
Setting up a nutraceutical extraction plant starts with confirming your target botanical, marker-compound specification, and production capacity, then engineering the extraction, filtration, concentration, purification, and drying train around those targets. Mechotech handles the complete process — design, fabrication in SS 316L, installation, and commissioning — as a single turnkey scope; contact us to work through your specific requirements.
What does a nutraceutical extraction plant cost?
Cost depends on the target botanical, marker-compound specification, production capacity, and the extraction, filtration, and drying equipment selected, so we don't quote a fixed price without those details. Share your target botanical, capacity, and specification through a project consultation and we'll provide a project-specific quotation.
Who manufactures nutraceutical and botanical extraction plants and equipment?
Mechotech is a nutraceutical and botanical extraction plant manufacturer and equipment supplier, engineering and fabricating the complete turnkey machinery at our Hyderabad facility for buyers in India and export markets since 1997.
