Date Processing Plant: Extracts & Concentration

Mechotech lists extraction plants for date by-products and concentration equipment that can serve a date liquid or syrup duty. The catalog covers a date pulp soluble fibre extraction plant and a date seed phenolic acids and oil extraction plant, plus falling-film and multiple-effect evaporators. A complete date processing line (sorting, washing, pitting, paste or syrup production, packing) is not a listed standard product, so each date project is scoped after engineering review.

For date pulp the listed route is enzyme-assisted extraction of soluble fibre, followed by solid-liquid separation, concentration and drying. For date seeds the catalog lists routes for phenolic acids and date seed oil, including supercritical CO2 extraction for the oil. Date extracts and liquids can then be concentrated in a falling-film or multiple-effect evaporator and, where a powder is wanted, dried in a spray or vacuum dryer. These are screening candidates rather than guarantees: the final technology, operating parameters and plant configuration are established during process development and pilot validation. Final configuration depends on raw material, process requirements, capacity and engineering review.

Manufacturing Process

1

Raw-Material Preparation

Date pulp or seed is cleaned and size-reduced as the target extract requires.

2

Extraction

Date pulp is processed by enzyme-assisted extraction for soluble fibre. Date seed routes include counter-current, ultrasound and microwave extraction for phenolic acids and supercritical CO2 for the oil.

3

Solid-Liquid Separation

The extract is separated through filtration or centrifugation.

4

Concentration

The liquid is concentrated by vacuum evaporation, and by membrane concentration where the project requires it.

5

Recovery & Standardisation

The extract is standardised to the target specification, which is defined with the customer.

6

Drying & Packing

Where a dried form is specified, the concentrate is dried and the product packed.

Applications

  • Date pulp soluble fibre extract production
  • Date seed phenolic acids and oil extract production
  • Date juice and syrup concentration duties (subject to review)
  • Nutraceutical and food ingredient supply
  • Date by-product valorisation projects

Key Features

  • Listed Date Extraction Plants

Date pulp fibre and date seed plants already have their own catalog pages and process routes.

  • Concentration for Date Liquids

Falling-film and multiple-effect evaporators can concentrate a date liquid under vacuum, subject to scope review.

  • Screening, Then Pilot Validation

Routes are candidates; the final technology and parameters are set in process development and pilot validation on your material.

  • Clear Scope Boundaries

We state which stages are listed equipment and which sit outside the catalog, so the proposal matches what Mechotech can deliver.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Mechotech supply a date processing plant?
We list extraction plants for date pulp and date seeds and evaporators for concentration. A complete date processing line (sorting, washing, pitting, paste or syrup production and packing) is not listed in our catalog and is scoped per project after engineering review of your dates, target product and capacity.
Which date plants are listed?
The date pulp soluble fibre extraction plant and the date seed phenolic acids and oil extraction plant. Both follow a preparation, extraction, separation, concentration and drying route, with the technology confirmed in pilot validation.
Can you concentrate date juice or date syrup?
A falling-film evaporator or multiple-effect evaporator can concentrate suitable liquids under vacuum. A date-specific line is not listed, so we confirm fit with you after reviewing your liquid, solids and target concentration.
What information do you need for a date project enquiry?
Tell us the date material (whole fruit, pulp, seed or liquid), the product you want (fibre extract, phenolic extract, seed oil, concentrate or powder), the capacity, the utilities available at site and where the plant will be built.
Can the concentrate be dried to powder?
Where a dried form is specified, the concentrate can be dried. The spray dryer converts liquid feeds to powder, with suitability for a sugar-rich date feed confirmed on trial. See also fruit juice processing and concentration.
Should I run a pilot trial first?
Yes. Routes on the date pages are screening candidates, so a pilot trial on your own material is recommended before sizing a commercial plant. See pilot plants and the Process Development Centre.
