Lavandin Flower & Buds Oils Distillation Plants — Mechotech

Lavandin

Mechotech designs and manufactures turnkey flower & buds oils distillation plants for Lavandin. The catalogue lists the plant feed as leaves, flowers and buds. The plant recovers essential oil by distillation for the catalogue’s fragrance, aromatherapy, cosmetic, food and pharmaceutical industries. The Sureka Life Sciences (SLS) catalogue lists Lavandin Distillation with Lavandula as the botanical source and linalool as the marker compound. Lavandin has its own page, separate from Lavender. The exact feed form is confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.

Mechotech’s Lavandin plant is configured around the raw material and the target oil. It is built in SS 316L with integrated condensers and oil–water separation, PLC-based automation and full documentation, and is delivered as a commissioned turnkey system. The distillation mode and operating parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.

Manufacturing Process

1

Raw Material Preparation

Lavandin leaves, flowers and buds are sorted and cleaned of foreign matter and, where required, dried or size-adjusted so that the charge packs evenly in the still.

2

Charging & Distillation

The prepared Lavandin charge is loaded into the SS 316L still and distilled by steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected during process development for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil.

3

Condensation

Vapours pass through a multi-tube condenser with chilled-water circulation, condensing the oil and hydrosol.

4

Oil–Water Separation

Condensate is separated in a stainless-steel Florentine flask; the oil is collected and the hydrosol is drawn off and can be recovered as a co-product.

5

Polishing & Drying

The crude oil is polish-filtered and dried over anhydrous sodium sulphate or by vacuum to remove residual moisture.

6

Quality Control

Each batch is sampled for GC-MS profile and physical parameters — specific gravity, refractive index, optical rotation — against the client’s specification.

Key Features

  • SS 316L Construction

Product-contact surfaces are SS 316L for corrosion resistance and product purity, with CIP capability between batches.

  • Efficient Condensation

Multi-tube condensers with chilled-water circulation condense the volatile oil and hydrosol and limit loss of volatile top-notes.

  • Configurable Distillation Mode

The still is configured for steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected during process development for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil.

  • Hydrosol Recovery

Integrated oil–water separation allows the aromatic hydrosol to be drawn off and recovered as a co-product.

  • Scalable Capacity

Plants are configured to requirement from pilot scale upward, with modular expansion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Mechotech supply the complete machinery for Lavandin?
Yes. Mechotech supplies the complete turnkey plant for Lavandin — engineered, fabricated at our Hyderabad facility, installed and commissioned as a single integrated system. Final process parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.
What specification can the Lavandin plant achieve?
The plant is configured to the client’s target specification for Lavandin; the specification achieved is established during process development and pilot validation, and each batch is released with batch-release testing and certificate-of-analysis documentation.
What production capacities are available for the Lavandin plant?
Capacity for the Lavandin plant is configured to raw-material supply, confirmed buyer volume and investment timeline, starting at pilot scale; a pilot plant is recommended to validate parameters before scaling.
Which end uses are listed for the Lavandin plant?
For this oil, the Sureka Life Sciences catalogue lists aromatherapy and diffusers, topical application and massage, household cleaning and detergents, insect repellent, and linen spray and fragrance as application areas.
Which part of Lavandin is processed in the distillation plant?
The catalogue lists Lavandin as leaves, flowers and buds, under Flower & Buds Oils Distillation Plants. The exact feed form, such as fresh or dried material and the proportion of each part, is confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
How is Lavandin oil produced in the plant?
The prepared Lavandin charge is loaded into an SS 316L still and distilled by steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil. Vapours are condensed in a multi-tube condenser, the oil and hydrosol are separated in a Florentine flask, and the crude oil is polish-filtered and dried before GC-MS and physical-parameter testing.
What is the botanical source and marker compound of Lavandin on this page?
The Sureka Life Sciences catalogue entry for Lavandin Distillation lists Lavandula (genus level only) as the botanical source and linalool as the marker compound. The species or cultivar, the target oil specification and any further marker compounds are confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
How does Lavandin differ from Lavender?
Lavandin and Lavender are separate catalogue entries in both Mechotech’s and the Sureka Life Sciences catalogues. Mechotech’s legacy page text describes lavandin as a hybrid of true lavender. The Lavender page covers Lavandula angustifolia flower spikes and flowering tops by distillation, and Lavender Flower Linalyl Acetate (CO₂) covers the CO₂ route. This page covers Lavandin leaves, flowers and buds by distillation. Confirm the oil and species your specification requires before selecting a plant.
Which neighbouring plants does the product tree list with Lavandin?
Mechotech’s product tree lists these flower and bud plants next to Lavandin: Lavender, Poplar (Buds) and Roman Chamomile. The hub is Flower & Buds Oils Distillation Plants.
