Roman Chamomile Flower & Buds Oils Distillation Plants — Mechotech

Roman Chamomile

Mechotech designs and manufactures turnkey flower & buds oils distillation plants for Roman Chamomile. The product tree lists the entry as Roman Chamomile (Flowers / Buds), and Mechotech’s legacy page describes steam distillation of Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile) essential oil from the flowers and buds. The Sureka Life Sciences (SLS) catalogue lists Roman Chamomile Distillation with Chamaemelum nobile as the botanical source and angelate as the offering grade. Roman chamomile is a different raw material from the German chamomile pages. The exact feed form, fresh or dried flowers and buds, is confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.

Mechotech’s Roman Chamomile plant is configured around the raw material and the target oil. It is built in SS 316L with integrated condensers and oil–water separation, PLC-based automation and full documentation, and is delivered as a commissioned turnkey system. The distillation mode and operating parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.

Manufacturing Process

1

Raw Material Preparation

Roman chamomile flowers and buds are sorted, cleaned of stalks and debris and charged whole or lightly consolidated so that steam passes evenly through the bed; the handling of the delicate flower heads, and whether they are fresh or dried, is set during process development.

2

Charging & Distillation

The prepared Roman Chamomile charge is loaded into the SS 316L still and distilled by steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected during process development for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil.

3

Condensation

Vapours pass through a multi-tube condenser with chilled-water circulation, condensing the oil and hydrosol.

4

Oil–Water Separation

Condensate is separated in a stainless-steel Florentine flask; the oil is collected and the hydrosol is drawn off and can be recovered as a co-product.

5

Polishing & Drying

The crude oil is polish-filtered and dried over anhydrous sodium sulphate or by vacuum to remove residual moisture.

6

Quality Control

Each batch is sampled for GC-MS profile and physical parameters — specific gravity, refractive index, optical rotation — against the client’s specification.

Plant Output

Roman Chamomile essential oilAromatic hydrosol (co-product)

Applications

  • Skin-care and cosmetic products
  • Aromatherapy and wellness applications
  • Muscle and pain-relief products
  • Digestive-wellness products

Key Features

  • SS 316L Construction

Product-contact surfaces are SS 316L for corrosion resistance and product purity, with CIP capability between batches.

  • Efficient Condensation

Multi-tube condensers with chilled-water circulation condense the volatile oil and hydrosol and limit loss of volatile top-notes.

  • Configurable Distillation Mode

The still is configured for steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected during process development for the delicate flower and bud charge and the target oil.

  • Hydrosol Recovery

Integrated oil–water separation allows the aromatic hydrosol to be drawn off and recovered as a co-product.

  • Scalable Capacity

Plants are configured to requirement from pilot scale upward, with modular expansion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Mechotech supply the complete machinery for Roman Chamomile?
Yes. Mechotech supplies the complete turnkey plant for Roman Chamomile — engineered, fabricated at our Hyderabad facility, installed and commissioned as a single integrated system. Final process parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.
What specification can the Roman Chamomile plant achieve?
The plant is configured to the client’s target specification for Roman Chamomile; the specification achieved is established during process development and pilot validation, and batch-release testing with certificate-of-analysis documentation is defined with the client.
What production capacities are available for the Roman Chamomile plant?
Capacity for the Roman Chamomile plant is configured to raw-material supply, confirmed buyer volume and investment timeline, starting at pilot scale; a pilot plant is recommended to validate parameters before scaling.
Which end uses are listed for the Roman Chamomile plant?
For this oil, the Sureka Life Sciences catalogue lists skincare, aromatherapy, pain and muscle relief, paediatric care and digestive health among its application areas; these are catalogue use areas, not performance claims by Mechotech.
Which part of Roman chamomile is processed in the distillation plant?
The product tree lists Roman Chamomile as flowers and buds, under Flower & Buds Oils Distillation Plants, and Mechotech’s legacy page describes steam distillation of the essential oil from the flowers and buds. The exact feed form, fresh or dried, is confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
How is Roman chamomile oil produced in the plant?
The prepared Roman chamomile charge is loaded into an SS 316L still and distilled by steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil. Vapours are condensed in a multi-tube condenser, the oil and hydrosol are separated in a Florentine flask, and the crude oil is polish-filtered and dried before GC-MS and physical-parameter testing.
What is the botanical source and marker compound of Roman chamomile on this page?
The Sureka Life Sciences catalogue entry for Roman Chamomile Distillation lists Chamaemelum nobile as the botanical source and angelate as the marker compound (CAS 8015-92-7 in that entry); Mechotech’s legacy page also names Chamaemelum nobile. The catalogue gives no percentage for the angelate offering grade, so none is stated here. The target oil specification is confirmed with the client during process development.
How does Roman chamomile differ from German chamomile?
They are separate raw materials with separate entries. The Sureka Life Sciences catalogue lists Roman chamomile as Chamaemelum nobile with angelate, and German chamomile distillation as Matricaria chamomilla with chamazulene. Mechotech’s German Chamomile / Blue Chamomile page is the distillation route for German chamomile, German Chamomile is the concrete and absolute route, and Chamomile Dry Extract is the herbal extraction product. Confirm which species and route are wanted before choosing a page.
Which neighbouring plants does the product tree list with Roman chamomile?
Mechotech’s product tree lists these plants next to Roman Chamomile (Flowers / Buds): Poplar, Rose Essential Oil and Tagetes. The hub is Flower & Buds Oils Distillation Plants.
