Poplar Flower & Buds Oils Distillation Plants — Mechotech

Poplar

Mechotech designs and manufactures turnkey flower & buds oils distillation plants for Poplar. The product tree lists the feed as buds under Flower & Buds Oils Distillation Plants. Mechotech’s legacy page for Poplar (Buds) describes poplar buds (Populus species) as rich in antioxidants, salicylates and aromatic compounds, and mentions both solvent extraction for an oleoresin and steam distillation for an essential oil; this page covers the distillation route that the product tree and the Sureka Life Sciences (SLS) catalogue list. The SLS catalogue lists Poplar Distillation with Populus as the botanical source and pinocembrin as the marker compound. The species and exact feed form are confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.

Mechotech’s Poplar plant is configured around the raw material and the target oil. It is built in SS 316L with integrated condensers and oil–water separation, PLC-based automation and full documentation, and is delivered as a commissioned turnkey system. The distillation mode and operating parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.

Manufacturing Process

1

Raw Material Preparation

Poplar buds are sorted and cleaned of twigs and foreign matter and, where required, dried or size-adjusted so that the charge packs evenly in the still; because the buds are resinous, the packing and the steam path are checked during process development.

2

Charging & Distillation

The prepared Poplar charge is loaded into the SS 316L still and distilled by steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected during process development for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil.

3

Condensation

Vapours pass through a multi-tube condenser with chilled-water circulation, condensing the oil and hydrosol.

4

Oil–Water Separation

Condensate is separated in a stainless-steel Florentine flask; the oil is collected and the hydrosol is drawn off and can be recovered as a co-product.

5

Polishing & Drying

The crude oil is polish-filtered and dried over anhydrous sodium sulphate or by vacuum to remove residual moisture.

6

Quality Control

Each batch is sampled for GC-MS profile and physical parameters — specific gravity, refractive index, optical rotation — against the client’s specification.

Major Plant Equipment

  • Bud cleaning, sorting and drying system
  • Perforated basket or false-bottom charge support
  • SS 316L distillation still / extractor
  • Multi-tube condenser with chilled-water circulation
  • Stainless-steel Florentine flask (oil–water separator)

Plant Output

Poplar essential oilAromatic hydrosol (co-product)

Applications

  • Muscle and joint-care products
  • Skin-care and repair products
  • Respiratory-support products
  • Aromatherapy applications
  • Perfumery and cosmetic applications

Key Features

  • SS 316L Construction

Product-contact surfaces are SS 316L for corrosion resistance and product purity, with CIP capability between batches.

  • Efficient Condensation

Multi-tube condensers with chilled-water circulation condense the volatile oil and hydrosol and limit loss of volatile top-notes.

  • Configurable Distillation Mode

The still is configured for steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected during process development for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil.

  • Hydrosol Recovery

Integrated oil–water separation allows the aromatic hydrosol to be drawn off and recovered as a co-product.

  • Scalable Capacity

Plants are configured to requirement from pilot scale upward, with modular expansion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Mechotech supply the complete machinery for Poplar?
Yes. Mechotech supplies the complete turnkey plant for Poplar — engineered, fabricated at our Hyderabad facility, installed and commissioned as a single integrated system. Final process parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.
What specification can the Poplar plant achieve?
The plant is configured to the client’s target specification for Poplar; the specification achieved is established during process development and pilot validation, and each batch is released with batch-release testing and certificate-of-analysis documentation.
What production capacities are available for the Poplar plant?
Capacity for the Poplar plant is configured to raw-material supply, confirmed buyer volume and investment timeline, starting at pilot scale; a pilot plant is recommended to validate parameters before scaling.
Which end uses are listed for the Poplar plant?
For this oil, the Sureka Life Sciences catalogue lists pain relief and anti-inflammatory, skin health and repair, respiratory support, aromatherapy and mental wellbeing, and perfumery and cosmetics among its application areas; these are catalogue use areas, not performance claims by Mechotech.
Which part of Poplar is processed in the distillation plant?
The product tree lists Poplar as buds, under Flower & Buds Oils Distillation Plants, and Mechotech’s legacy page is titled Poplar (Buds). The exact feed form, such as fresh or dried buds, and the species are confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
How is Poplar oil produced in the plant?
The prepared Poplar charge is loaded into an SS 316L still and distilled by steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil. Vapours are condensed in a multi-tube condenser, the oil and hydrosol are separated in a Florentine flask, and the crude oil is polish-filtered and dried before GC-MS and physical-parameter testing.
What is the botanical source and marker compound of Poplar on this page?
The Sureka Life Sciences catalogue entry for Poplar Distillation lists Populus (genus only) as the botanical source and pinocembrin as the marker compound. No Mechotech source states an assay for the distilled oil. The target oil specification is confirmed with the client during process development.
Is this page the distillation route or the solvent route?
This page is the distillation route. Mechotech’s legacy Poplar (Buds) page mentions both solvent extraction for an oleoresin and steam distillation for an essential oil, but the product tree lists Poplar under Flower & Buds Oils Distillation Plants and the Sureka Life Sciences entry is Poplar Distillation. The oleoresin route is not described on this page; if a solvent route is wanted it is defined with the client during process development.
Why does the legacy page mention salicylates?
Mechotech’s legacy page describes poplar buds as rich in antioxidants, salicylates and aromatic compounds, and the Sureka Life Sciences entry text mentions salicin. Neither source gives a content figure for the distilled oil, so no salicylate or salicin specification is stated on this page; the target specification is confirmed with the client.
Which neighbouring plants does the product tree list with Poplar?
Mechotech’s product tree lists these plants next to Poplar: Lavender, Roman Chamomile and Rose Concrete & Absolute. The hub is Flower & Buds Oils Distillation Plants.
