Ginger Oleoresin

Ginger Oleoresin
Mechotech designs and manufactures turnkey spices oleoresin extraction plants for Ginger (Zingiber officinale). As a ginger oleoresin extraction plant manufacturer, we supply the complete machinery — cleaning, milling, solvent extraction, filtration, vacuum concentration, solvent recovery, aroma recovery and standardisation — to process dried ginger rhizomes into a consistent, gingerol-rich oleoresin extract for the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food, beverage, and fragrance industries.
Mechotech's Ginger plant is engineered around the pungency and aroma chemistry of Zingiber officinale rhizome — preserving gingerols and shogaols (the compounds responsible for ginger's characteristic pungency) while recovering the volatile aromatic oil fraction that carries its fragrance. Built in SS 316L with integrated closed-loop solvent recovery, a dedicated aroma-recovery section, PLC-SCADA automation, and full documentation, each plant is delivered as a commissioned turnkey system producing export-grade Ginger Oleoresin.

Manufacturing Process
Raw Material Cleaning & Size Reduction
Dried ginger rhizomes (typically 8–10% moisture) are cleaned, inspected, and milled to the optimum particle size to maximise extraction efficiency while preserving valuable gingerol and shogaol phytochemicals.
Solvent Extraction
Ground ginger is extracted with a food-grade solvent system in closed, jacketed SS 316L extraction vessels under controlled temperature and multiple cycles, maximising oleoresin and gingerol recovery while preserving volatile aromatic oils.
Primary Filtration
The extract (miscella) is clarified through pressure leaf filtration, removing suspended solids while retaining valuable oleoresin and aromatic compounds.
Vacuum Concentration
Clarified extract is concentrated under reduced pressure in a multi-effect vacuum evaporator, minimising thermal degradation and preserving the aroma profile.
Solvent Recovery
A closed-loop recovery system condenses, purifies and recycles the extraction solvent, returning it for reuse within the process.
Aroma Recovery
A dedicated aroma-recovery section captures the volatile compounds that give ginger its distinctive flavour and fragrance, which are reintroduced to enhance the finished oleoresin's aroma profile.
Polishing Filtration & Standardisation
Final polishing filtration removes trace impurities, after which the oleoresin is standardised for gingerol content, shogaol content, volatile oil content, viscosity, moisture and residual-solvent limits.
Quality Control & Packing
Each batch is released after assay, residual-solvent, heavy-metal, and microbial testing, then packed with full certificate-of-analysis documentation.

Key Features
GMP Hygienic SS 316L Construction
Electropolished SS 316L product-contact surfaces use GMP hygienic design, with CIP operation between batches.
Closed-Loop Solvent Recovery
Integrated recovery returns the solvent for reuse within the process; recovery performance is established during process development.
Standardised to Specification
In-process and batch-release assay are used to check the finished Ginger oleoresin against its declared gingerol, shogaol and volatile-oil specification.
Dedicated Aroma Recovery
A dedicated aroma-recovery unit captures ginger's volatile flavour and fragrance compounds, which are reintroduced for a superior aroma profile and higher market value.
Scalable Batch Capacity
Plants are configured to requirement from pilot scale upward, with modular expansion.
