White Camphor Wood / Bark Distillation Plants — Mechotech

White Camphor

Mechotech designs and manufactures turnkey wood / bark distillation plants for White Camphor. The product tree lists the entry under Wood / Bark Distillation Plants. Mechotech’s legacy page is titled White Camphor (Cinnamomum camphora) Distillation Plant, but its body text describes the Virginian cedarwood plant (Juniperus virginiana), so that text belongs to another entry and is not used for this page. The Sureka Life Sciences (SLS) catalogue lists White Camphor Distillation with Cinnamomum camphora as the botanical source and camphor as the offering grade. The plant part, wood or other, and the target oil are confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.

Mechotech’s White Camphor plant is configured around the raw material and the target oil. It is built in SS 316L with integrated condensers and oil–water separation, PLC-based automation and full documentation, and is delivered as a commissioned turnkey system. The distillation mode and operating parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.

Manufacturing Process

1

Raw Material Preparation

White camphor wood is cleaned and reduced to chips or shavings, as agreed with the client, so that the charge packs evenly in the still and steam can reach the wood tissue; the part used and the particle size are set during process development.

2

Charging & Distillation

The prepared White Camphor charge is loaded into the SS 316L still and distilled by steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected during process development for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil.

3

Condensation

Vapours pass through a multi-tube condenser with chilled-water circulation, condensing the oil and hydrosol.

4

Oil–Water Separation

Condensate is separated in a stainless-steel Florentine flask; the oil is collected and the hydrosol is drawn off and can be recovered as a co-product.

5

Polishing & Drying

The crude oil is polish-filtered and dried over anhydrous sodium sulphate or by vacuum to remove residual moisture.

6

Quality Control

Each batch is sampled for GC-MS profile and physical parameters — specific gravity, refractive index, optical rotation — against the client’s specification.

Major Plant Equipment

  • Wood cleaning and size-reduction system (chipper or mill)
  • Perforated basket or false-bottom charge support
  • SS 316L distillation still / extractor
  • Multi-tube condenser with chilled-water circulation
  • Stainless-steel Florentine flask (oil–water separator)
  • Polish filtration system
  • Drying unit (anhydrous sodium sulphate or vacuum)
  • CIP system

Plant Output

White Camphor essential oilAromatic hydrosol (co-product)

Applications

  • Aromatherapy applications
  • Hair-care and topical products (catalogue use areas)
  • Insect-repellent formulations (catalogue use area)

Key Features

  • SS 316L Construction

Product-contact surfaces are SS 316L for corrosion resistance and product purity, with CIP capability between batches.

  • Efficient Condensation

Multi-tube condensers with chilled-water circulation condense the volatile oil and hydrosol and limit loss of volatile top-notes.

  • Configurable Distillation Mode

The still is configured for steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected during process development for the dense wood feedstock and the target oil.

  • Hydrosol Recovery

Integrated oil–water separation allows the aromatic hydrosol to be drawn off and recovered as a co-product.

  • Scalable Capacity

Plants are configured to requirement from pilot scale upward, with modular expansion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Mechotech supply the complete machinery for White Camphor?
Yes. Mechotech supplies the complete turnkey plant for White Camphor — engineered, fabricated at our Hyderabad facility, installed and commissioned as a single integrated system. Final process parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.
What specification can the White Camphor plant achieve?
The plant is configured to the client’s target specification for White Camphor; the specification achieved is established during process development and pilot validation, and batch-release testing with certificate-of-analysis documentation is defined with the client.
What production capacities are available for the White Camphor plant?
Capacity for the White Camphor plant is configured to raw-material supply, confirmed buyer volume and investment timeline, starting at pilot scale; a pilot plant is recommended to validate parameters before scaling.
Which end uses are listed for the White Camphor plant?
For this oil, the Sureka Life Sciences catalogue lists topical analgesics, aromatherapy, hair care and insect repellent among its application areas; these are catalogue use areas, not performance claims by Mechotech.
Which part of White Camphor is processed in the distillation plant?
The product tree lists White Camphor under Wood / Bark Distillation Plants without naming a part, and the legacy page body is not usable for this entry. The exact part and form are confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
How is White Camphor oil produced in the plant?
The prepared White Camphor charge is loaded into an SS 316L still and distilled by steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil. Vapours are condensed in a multi-tube condenser, the oil and hydrosol are separated in a Florentine flask, and the crude oil is polish-filtered and dried before GC-MS and physical-parameter testing.
Why is the legacy page text not used?
Mechotech’s legacy page for White Camphor (Cinnamomum camphora) carries body text about a Virginian cedarwood plant, Juniperus virginiana. That text appears to have been copied from the cedarwood entry, so it is not used here; Virginian Cedar Wood is the correct page for that plant.
What is the botanical source and marker compound of White Camphor on this page?
The Sureka Life Sciences catalogue entry for White Camphor Distillation lists Cinnamomum camphora as the botanical source and camphor as the marker compound (CAS 8008-51-3 in that entry), which the catalogue also gives for an entry named Taiwan Distillation. No percentage is stated, and the target oil specification is confirmed with the client during process development.
Which neighbouring plants does the product tree list with White Camphor?
Mechotech’s product tree lists White Camphor last in its group, after Virginian Cedar Wood. The hub is Wood / Bark Distillation Plants.
