Rose wood Wood / Bark Distillation Plants — Mechotech

Rose wood

Mechotech designs and manufactures turnkey wood / bark distillation plants for Rose wood. The product tree lists the entry under Wood / Bark Distillation Plants. Mechotech’s legacy page for the Rosewood Distillation & Extraction Plant describes rosewood essential oil and extracts from Dalbergia species (wood and bark) by steam distillation and solvent extraction; this page covers the distillation route that the product tree and the Sureka Life Sciences (SLS) catalogue list. The SLS catalogue lists Rose wood Distillation with Dalbergia latifolia as the botanical source and an 80–90% linalool offering grade. Rose wood is a wood oil and is a different raw material from the rose flower pages. The exact wood form, species and origin are confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.

Mechotech’s Rose wood plant is configured around the raw material and the target oil. It is built in SS 316L with integrated condensers and oil–water separation, PLC-based automation and full documentation, and is delivered as a commissioned turnkey system. The distillation mode and operating parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.

Manufacturing Process

1

Raw Material Preparation

Rosewood is cleaned and reduced to chips, shavings or powder, as agreed with the client, so that the charge packs evenly in the still and steam can reach the wood tissue; the particle size is set during process development.

2

Charging & Distillation

The prepared Rose wood charge is loaded into the SS 316L still and distilled by steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected during process development for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil.

3

Condensation

Vapours pass through a multi-tube condenser with chilled-water circulation, condensing the oil and hydrosol.

4

Oil–Water Separation

Condensate is separated in a stainless-steel Florentine flask; the oil is collected and the hydrosol is drawn off and can be recovered as a co-product.

5

Polishing & Drying

The crude oil is polish-filtered and dried over anhydrous sodium sulphate or by vacuum to remove residual moisture.

6

Quality Control

Each batch is sampled for GC-MS profile and physical parameters — specific gravity, refractive index, optical rotation — against the client’s specification.

Major Plant Equipment

  • Wood cleaning and size-reduction system (chipper or mill)

Plant Output

Rose wood essential oilAromatic hydrosol (co-product)

Applications

  • Skin-care and cosmetic products
  • Aromatherapy and wellness applications
  • Deodorant and personal-care products
  • Natural perfumery and fragrance compositions (per Mechotech’s legacy page)

Key Features

  • SS 316L Construction

Product-contact surfaces are SS 316L for corrosion resistance and product purity, with CIP capability between batches.

  • Efficient Condensation

Multi-tube condensers with chilled-water circulation condense the volatile oil and hydrosol and limit loss of volatile top-notes.

  • Configurable Distillation Mode

The still is configured for steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected during process development for the dense wood feedstock and the target oil.

  • Hydrosol Recovery

Integrated oil–water separation allows the aromatic hydrosol to be drawn off and recovered as a co-product.

  • Scalable Capacity

Plants are configured to requirement from pilot scale upward, with modular expansion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Mechotech supply the complete machinery for Rose wood?
Yes. Mechotech supplies the complete turnkey plant for Rose wood — engineered, fabricated at our Hyderabad facility, installed and commissioned as a single integrated system. Final process parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.
What specification can the Rose wood plant achieve?
The plant is configured to the client’s target specification for Rose wood; the specification achieved is established during process development and pilot validation, and batch-release testing with certificate-of-analysis documentation is defined with the client.
What production capacities are available for the Rose wood plant?
Capacity for the Rose wood plant is configured to raw-material supply, confirmed buyer volume and investment timeline, starting at pilot scale; a pilot plant is recommended to validate parameters before scaling.
Which end uses are listed for the Rose wood plant?
For this oil, the Sureka Life Sciences catalogue lists skincare and anti-ageing, aromatherapy and mental health, pain management, immunity and respiratory support, and cosmetics and deodorants among its application areas; these are catalogue use areas, not performance claims by Mechotech.
Which part of Rose wood is processed in the distillation plant?
The product tree lists Rose wood under Wood / Bark Distillation Plants without naming a form, and Mechotech’s legacy page describes rosewood wood and bark from Dalbergia species. The exact form, such as chips, shavings or powder, is confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
How is Rose wood oil produced in the plant?
The prepared Rose wood charge is loaded into an SS 316L still and distilled by steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil. Vapours are condensed in a multi-tube condenser, the oil and hydrosol are separated in a Florentine flask, and the crude oil is polish-filtered and dried before GC-MS and physical-parameter testing.
What is the botanical source and marker compound of Rose wood on this page?
The Sureka Life Sciences catalogue entry for Rose wood Distillation lists Dalbergia latifolia as the botanical source and linalool as the marker compound, with an 80–90% linalool offering grade (CAS 8015-77-8 in that entry). Mechotech’s legacy page names Dalbergia species without a single species. The figure is a catalogue figure for the offered oil and not a Mechotech guarantee, and the target oil specification is confirmed with the client during process development.
Does this page cover solvent extraction of rosewood?
No. Mechotech’s legacy page for rosewood mentions both steam distillation and solvent extraction, but the product tree lists the entry under Wood / Bark Distillation Plants and the Sureka Life Sciences entry is Rose wood Distillation. This page covers the distillation route; an extract route would be defined with the client during process development.
Is rose wood the same as rose?
No. Rose wood is an oil from the wood and bark of Dalbergia species. The rose flower pages are different raw materials: Rose Essential Oil is the flower distillation, Rose Concrete & Absolute is the concrete and absolute route, and Rose Geranium is a leaf oil from Pelargonium graveolens. Confirm which raw material is wanted before choosing a page.
Does the raw material need regulatory confirmation?
Mechotech’s sources do not state the legal or trade status of rosewood. Some Dalbergia species are subject to harvest or trade controls in some jurisdictions, so the species, origin and any permits for the wood are confirmed with the client before the plant is configured. This is a point to confirm, not a statement about any specific supply.
Which neighbouring plants does the product tree list with Rose wood?
Mechotech’s product tree lists these plants next to Rose wood: Red sandal Wood, Sandal wood and Taiwan Hinoki Bark & Wood Oil. The hub is Wood / Bark Distillation Plants.
