Rose Geranium Leaves Oils Distillation Plants — Mechotech

Rose Geranium

Mechotech designs and manufactures turnkey leaves oils distillation plants for Rose Geranium. The product tree lists the entry as Rose Geranium (Leaves), and Mechotech’s legacy page describes steam distillation of rose geranium essential oil from fresh or dried leaves. The Sureka Life Sciences (SLS) catalogue lists Rose Geranium Leaves Distillation with Pelargonium graveolens as the botanical source and a 30–45% geraniol offering grade. Mechotech also lists a separate Geranium page that names the same species, so the two pages are cross-linked and the difference is stated below. The exact feed form is confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.

Mechotech’s Rose Geranium plant is configured around the raw material and the target oil. It is built in SS 316L with integrated condensers and oil–water separation, PLC-based automation and full documentation, and is delivered as a commissioned turnkey system. The distillation mode and operating parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.

Manufacturing Process

1

Raw Material Preparation

Rose geranium leaves are cleaned and sorted, and size-reduced where required, so that the charge packs evenly in the still and steam can reach the leaf tissue; whether the leaf is fresh or dried, and the particle size, are set during process development.

2

Charging & Distillation

The prepared Rose Geranium charge is loaded into the SS 316L still and distilled by steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected during process development for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil.

3

Condensation

Vapours pass through a multi-tube condenser with chilled-water circulation, condensing the oil and hydrosol.

4

Oil–Water Separation

Condensate is separated in a stainless-steel Florentine flask; the oil is collected and the hydrosol is drawn off and can be recovered as a co-product.

5

Polishing & Drying

The crude oil is polish-filtered and dried over anhydrous sodium sulphate or by vacuum to remove residual moisture.

6

Quality Control

Each batch is sampled for GC-MS profile and physical parameters — specific gravity, refractive index, optical rotation — against the client’s specification.

Major Plant Equipment

  • Leaf cleaning and size-reduction system
  • Perforated basket or false-bottom charge support
  • SS 316L distillation still / extractor
  • Multi-tube condenser with chilled-water circulation
  • Stainless-steel Florentine flask (oil–water separator)
  • Polish filtration system

Plant Output

Rose Geranium essential oilAromatic hydrosol (co-product)

Applications

  • Skin-care and cosmetic products
  • Aromatherapy and wellness applications
  • Body-care and massage products
  • Natural insect-repellent formulations (catalogue use area)

Key Features

  • SS 316L Construction

Product-contact surfaces are SS 316L for corrosion resistance and product purity, with CIP capability between batches.

  • Efficient Condensation

Multi-tube condensers with chilled-water circulation condense the volatile oil and hydrosol and limit loss of volatile top-notes.

  • Configurable Distillation Mode

The still is configured for steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected during process development for the leaf charge and the target oil.

  • Hydrosol Recovery

Integrated oil–water separation allows the aromatic hydrosol to be drawn off and recovered as a co-product.

  • Scalable Capacity

Plants are configured to requirement from pilot scale upward, with modular expansion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Mechotech supply the complete machinery for Rose Geranium?
Yes. Mechotech supplies the complete turnkey plant for Rose Geranium — engineered, fabricated at our Hyderabad facility, installed and commissioned as a single integrated system. Final process parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.
What specification can the Rose Geranium plant achieve?
The plant is configured to the client’s target specification for Rose Geranium; the specification achieved is established during process development and pilot validation, and batch-release testing with certificate-of-analysis documentation is defined with the client.
What production capacities are available for the Rose Geranium plant?
Capacity for the Rose Geranium plant is configured to raw-material supply, confirmed buyer volume and investment timeline, starting at pilot scale; a pilot plant is recommended to validate parameters before scaling.
Which end uses are listed for the Rose Geranium plant?
For this oil, the Sureka Life Sciences catalogue lists dermatology and skincare, sebum regulation, acne and inflammation, wound healing, mental health and aromatherapy, stress and anxiety relief, mood balancing, body care and wellness, massage and pain, and insect repellent among its application areas; these are catalogue use areas, not performance claims by Mechotech.
Which part of Rose Geranium is processed in the distillation plant?
The product tree lists Rose Geranium as leaves, under Leaves Oils Distillation Plants, and Mechotech’s legacy page describes steam distillation of the oil from fresh or dried leaves. The exact feed form is confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
How is Rose Geranium oil produced in the plant?
The prepared Rose Geranium charge is loaded into an SS 316L still and distilled by steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil. Vapours are condensed in a multi-tube condenser, the oil and hydrosol are separated in a Florentine flask, and the crude oil is polish-filtered and dried before GC-MS and physical-parameter testing.
What is the botanical source and marker compound of Rose Geranium on this page?
The Sureka Life Sciences catalogue entry for Rose Geranium Leaves Distillation lists Pelargonium graveolens as the botanical source and geraniol as the marker compound, with a 30–45% geraniol offering grade (CAS 8000-46-2 in that entry). The figure is a catalogue figure for the offered oil and not a Mechotech guarantee. The target oil specification is confirmed with the client during process development.
How does Rose Geranium differ from the Geranium page?
Both are leaf distillation entries and both name Pelargonium graveolens, so they overlap and are kept separate only because the product tree lists them as two entries. Geranium is described as a citronellol- and geraniol-rich leaf oil, while the Sureka Life Sciences catalogue lists its Geranium Leaves Distillation entry only at genus level (Pelargonium) with citronellol and the same CAS number as this entry. Mechotech has not merged them because the sources do not settle whether they are one product; the target oil and species are confirmed with the client. The CO2 route is on Geranium Leaf Oil (CO2).
Is rose geranium related to Rose?
No. Rose geranium is a leaf oil from Pelargonium graveolens and is a different raw material from the rose flower pages, Rose Essential Oil (flower distillation) and Rose Concrete & Absolute (concrete and absolute), and from Rose wood, which is a wood oil. The names are similar, so confirm the raw material before choosing a page.
Which neighbouring plants does the product tree list with Rose Geranium?
Mechotech’s product tree lists these plants next to Rose Geranium (Leaves): Rosalina / Ericifolia, Rosemary and Saro. The hub is Leaves Oils Distillation Plants.
