Clove (Leaves) Leaves Oils Distillation Plants — Mechotech

Clove (Leaves)

Mechotech designs and manufactures turnkey leaves oils distillation plants for Clove. As a clove oil extraction plant manufacturer, we supply the complete machinery — steam distillation being the extraction method used — to process Clove into an essential oil configured to the client’s target specification for the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food, and fragrance industries.

Mechotech's Clove plant is configured around the specific chemistry and processing requirements of Clove. Built in SS 316L with integrated condensers and oil-water separation, PLC-based automation, and full documentation, each plant is delivered as a commissioned turnkey system. Clove leaf is a leafy, eugenol-dominant feedstock, so the line is built around leaf handling, a still sized for the leaf charge and an oil–water separation and polishing train suited to a heavy phenolic oil. The bud route is covered on separate pages.

Manufacturing Process

1

Raw Material Preparation

Clove leaves are cleaned and charged into the still so that steam passes evenly through the leaf bed; the preparation, charge density and distillation time are set during process development.

2

Charging & Distillation

The prepared Clove charge is loaded into the SS 316L still and distilled by steam, hydro (hydrodistillation), vacuum, or pressure distillation — selected for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil.

3

Condensation

Vapours pass through an efficient multi-tube condenser with chilled-water circulation, condensing the volatile oil and hydrosol.

4

Oil–Water Separation

Condensate is separated in a stainless-steel Florentine flask; the essential oil is collected while the hydrosol is drawn off (and can be recovered as a co-product).

5

Polishing & Drying

The crude oil is polish-filtered and dried over anhydrous sodium sulphate (or by vacuum) to remove residual moisture.

6

Quality Control

Each batch of Clove oil is verified by GC-MS and physical parameters (specific gravity, refractive index, optical rotation) before release.

From Plant to Product

Clove Leaves Distillation

This botanical is also in the product range of Sureka Life Sciences, our sister concern in botanical ingredients.

Applications

  • Dental-care and oral-hygiene products
  • Pain-relief and anti-inflammatory formulations
  • Skin care, cosmetics and perfumery
  • Aromatherapy
  • Food preservation
  • Pest control and industrial uses

Key Features

  • SS 316L Construction

All product-contact surfaces are SS 316L for corrosion resistance and product purity, with CIP capability between batches.

  • Efficient Condensation

High-surface-area multi-tube condensers with chilled-water circulation condense the volatile oil and hydrosol.

  • Leaf-Charge Distillation

The still is configured for a clove leaf charge, with the distillation mode set during process development.

  • Hydrosol Recovery

Integrated separation allows the aromatic hydrosol to be recovered as a co-product.

  • Scalable Capacity

Plants are configured to requirement from pilot scale upward, with modular expansion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Mechotech supply the complete machinery for Clove?
Yes. Mechotech supplies the complete turnkey plant for Clove — engineered, fabricated at our Hyderabad facility, installed and commissioned as a single integrated system. Final process parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.
What specification can the Clove plant achieve?
The plant is configured to the client’s target specification for Clove. The specification that can be achieved is established during process development and pilot validation, and each batch is released with batch-release testing and certificate-of-analysis documentation.
What production capacities are available for the Clove plant?
Capacity for the Clove (Leaves) plant is configured to raw-material supply, confirmed buyer volume and investment timeline, starting at pilot scale; a pilot plant is recommended to validate parameters before scaling.
Which industries use the Clove plant?
Applications listed for clove leaf oil include dental-care and oral-hygiene products, pain-relief formulations, skin care, cosmetics and perfumery, aromatherapy, food preservation and pest control. The end use and the target specification are confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
Who supplies clove oil extraction plants and equipment?
Mechotech is a clove oil extraction plant manufacturer and equipment supplier, engineering and fabricating the complete distillation line — still, condenser, Florentine separator, and drying — at our Hyderabad facility.
Which part of Clove is processed in the distillation plant?
The catalogue lists Clove as leaves. The exact feed form is confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
How is Clove oil produced in the plant?
The prepared Clove charge is loaded into an SS 316L still and distilled by steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil. Vapours are condensed in a multi-tube condenser, the oil and hydrosol are separated in a Florentine flask, and the crude oil is polish-filtered and dried before quality control.
Does Mechotech list other routes or related plants for Clove?
Clove buds are listed on separate pages (Clove Buds steam distillation, Clove Buds Oleoresin and Clove Bud Oil (CO2)). The Clove Essential Oil Distillation Plant case study describes steam distillation of dried clove flower buds, not leaves. This page covers clove leaf oil distillation.
How does clove leaf oil differ from clove bud oil?
The Sureka Life Sciences catalogue lists eugenol at 70–90% for clove leaf oil and 72–90% for clove bud oil, and the legacy listing describes the bud oil as one of the highest-yielding commercial spice oils. Mechotech treats leaf and bud as separate raw materials with separate pages (Clove Buds), so the specification, feedstock logistics and commercial grade are agreed per feedstock.
