Clove Bud Oil (CO2) CO2 Extraction Plants — Mechotech

Clove Bud Oil (CO2)

Mechotech designs and manufactures turnkey CO2 extraction plants for Clove Bud Oil. We supply the complete machinery to process Clove Bud (buds) into a CO2 extract configured to the client’s target specification for flavour, fragrance and related ingredient applications.

Mechotech’s Clove Bud Oil (CO2) plant is configured around the raw material and the target oil. It is built in SS 316L, rated for the high-pressure supercritical CO2 process, with integrated CO2 recovery and recirculation, PLC-based automation and full documentation, and is delivered as a commissioned turnkey system. Clove buds are small, hard, eugenol-rich buds, so the line is built around cleaning and milling the buds and closed supercritical CO₂ extraction, with eugenol as the marker compound.

Manufacturing Process

1

Raw Material Preparation

Clove Bud raw material is cleaned, sorted, and (where required) milled to the optimal particle size to maximise extraction efficiency.

2

Supercritical CO2 Extraction

Prepared Clove Bud is charged into the high-pressure SS 316L extraction vessel, where CO2 is pressurised and heated past its critical point to act as a solvent-free extraction medium, drawing out the target oil.

3

Separation

The CO2-oil mixture is passed to a separator vessel where pressure is reduced, causing the CO2 to revert to gas and release the extracted oil.

4

CO2 Recovery & Recirculation

Released CO2 gas is recompressed, condensed, and recirculated back into the extraction cycle, minimising solvent consumption.

5

Collection & Quality Control

The extracted Clove Bud Oil is collected and each batch verified by GC-MS and physical parameters (specific gravity, refractive index) before release.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Mechotech supply the complete machinery for Clove Bud Oil (CO2)?
Yes. Mechotech is a CO2 extraction plant manufacturer and equipment supplier, engineering and fabricating the complete turnkey plant for Clove Bud Oil (CO2) at our Hyderabad facility, then installing and commissioning it as a single integrated system. Final process parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.
What specification can the Clove Bud Oil (CO2) plant achieve?
The plant is configured to the client’s target specification for Clove Bud Oil (CO2). The specification that can be achieved is established during process development and pilot validation, and each batch is released with batch-release testing and certificate-of-analysis documentation.
What production capacities are available for the Clove Bud Oil (CO2) plant?
Capacity for the Clove Bud Oil (CO2) plant is configured to raw-material supply, confirmed buyer volume and investment timeline, starting at pilot scale; a pilot plant is recommended to validate parameters before scaling.
Which industries use the Clove Bud Oil (CO2) plant?
The end-use areas listed for Clove Bud Oil (CO2) on this page are given under Applications. The end use and the target specification are confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
Which part of clove bud is processed in the CO2 plant?
The catalogue lists Clove Bud as buds. The exact feed form is confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
How is clove bud oil produced by supercritical CO2 extraction?
Prepared raw material is charged into a high-pressure SS 316L extraction vessel where CO2, pressurised and heated past its critical point, draws out the oil. Pressure is reduced in a separator vessel so the CO2 reverts to gas and releases the oil; the CO2 is recompressed, condensed and recirculated.
Does Mechotech list other routes or related plants for Clove Bud Oil (CO2)?
Clove buds are also listed as a steam-distillation plant (Clove Buds). This page covers the supercritical CO2 route.
How does clove bud oil by CO₂ differ from the other clove pages?
This page covers supercritical CO₂ extraction of clove buds. Clove buds are also listed as steam distillation and as an oleoresin, and clove leaf oil is on the Clove (Leaves) page; the Clove Essential Oil Distillation Plant case study describes the steam route for dried flower buds. Each route gives a different product, so the route follows the buyer’s specification.
