Cinnamon Bark Oil (CO2) CO2 Extraction Plants — Mechotech

Cinnamon Bark Oil (CO2)

Mechotech designs and manufactures turnkey CO2 extraction plants for Cinnamon Bark Oil. We supply the complete machinery to process Cinnamon Bark (bark) into a CO2 extract configured to the client’s target specification for flavour, fragrance and related ingredient applications.

Mechotech’s Cinnamon Bark Oil (CO2) plant is configured around the raw material and the target oil. It is built in SS 316L, rated for the high-pressure supercritical CO2 process, with integrated CO2 recovery and recirculation, PLC-based automation and full documentation, and is delivered as a commissioned turnkey system. Cinnamon bark oil by supercritical CO₂ is a different product from the steam-distilled oils: it is recovered in a closed, pressurised system rather than by steam, and cinnamaldehyde is the marker compound listed for it.

Manufacturing Process

1

Raw Material Preparation

Cinnamon Bark raw material is cleaned, sorted, and (where required) milled to the optimal particle size to maximise extraction efficiency.

2

Supercritical CO2 Extraction

Prepared Cinnamon Bark is charged into the high-pressure SS 316L extraction vessel, where CO2 is pressurised and heated past its critical point to act as a solvent-free extraction medium, drawing out the target oil.

3

Separation

The CO2-oil mixture is passed to a separator vessel where pressure is reduced, causing the CO2 to revert to gas and release the extracted oil.

4

CO2 Recovery & Recirculation

Released CO2 gas is recompressed, condensed, and recirculated back into the extraction cycle, minimising solvent consumption.

5

Collection & Quality Control

The extracted Cinnamon Bark Oil is collected and each batch verified by GC-MS and physical parameters (specific gravity, refractive index) before release.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Mechotech supply the complete machinery for Cinnamon Bark Oil (CO2)?
Yes. Mechotech is a CO2 extraction plant manufacturer and equipment supplier, engineering and fabricating the complete turnkey plant for Cinnamon Bark Oil (CO2) at our Hyderabad facility, then installing and commissioning it as a single integrated system. Final process parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.
What specification can the Cinnamon Bark Oil (CO2) plant achieve?
The plant is configured to the client’s target specification for Cinnamon Bark Oil (CO2). The specification that can be achieved is established during process development and pilot validation, and each batch is released with batch-release testing and certificate-of-analysis documentation.
What production capacities are available for the Cinnamon Bark Oil (CO2) plant?
Capacity for the Cinnamon Bark Oil (CO2) plant is configured to raw-material supply, confirmed buyer volume and investment timeline, starting at pilot scale; a pilot plant is recommended to validate parameters before scaling.
Which industries use the Cinnamon Bark Oil (CO2) plant?
The end-use areas listed for Cinnamon Bark Oil (CO2) on this page are given under Applications. The end use and the target specification are confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
Which part of cinnamon bark is processed in the CO2 plant?
The catalogue lists Cinnamon Bark as bark. The exact feed form is confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
How is cinnamon bark oil produced by supercritical CO2 extraction?
Prepared raw material is charged into a high-pressure SS 316L extraction vessel where CO2, pressurised and heated past its critical point, draws out the oil. Pressure is reduced in a separator vessel so the CO2 reverts to gas and releases the oil; the CO2 is recompressed, condensed and recirculated.
Does Mechotech list other routes or related plants for Cinnamon Bark Oil (CO2)?
Cinnamon bark oil is also listed as a steam-distillation plant (Cinnamon — Bark); Cinnamon Cassia Bark Oil (CO₂) is a separate page for cassia. This page covers the supercritical CO2 route for Cinnamomum zeylanicum bark.
How does cinnamon bark oil by CO₂ differ from the distilled cinnamon oils?
This page covers the supercritical CO₂ route (Cinnamomum zeylanicum, cinnamaldehyde as the marker per the Sureka Life Sciences catalogue). The steam-distillation route for cinnamon and cassia is described on Cinnamon, Cassia and in the Cinnamon Essential Oil Distillation Plant case study. The two routes give different products, so the route follows the buyer’s target specification.
