Cumin Oil (CO2) CO2 Extraction Plants — Mechotech

Cumin Oil (CO2)

Mechotech designs and manufactures turnkey CO2 extraction plants for Cumin Oil (Cuminum cyminum). We supply the complete machinery to process Cumin into a CO2 extract configured to the client’s target specification for flavour, fragrance and related ingredient applications.

Mechotech’s Cumin Oil (CO2) plant is configured around the raw material and the target oil. It is built in SS 316L, rated for the high-pressure supercritical CO2 process, with integrated CO2 recovery and recirculation, PLC-based automation and full documentation, and is delivered as a commissioned turnkey system. Cumin seed is a small aromatic seed, so the line is built around cleaning and milling the seed and closed supercritical CO₂ extraction, with cuminaldehyde as the marker compound.

Manufacturing Process

1

Raw Material Preparation

Cumin raw material is cleaned, sorted, and (where required) milled to the optimal particle size to maximise extraction efficiency.

2

Supercritical CO2 Extraction

Prepared Cumin is charged into the high-pressure SS 316L extraction vessel, where CO2 is pressurised and heated past its critical point to act as a solvent-free extraction medium, drawing out the target oil.

3

Separation

The CO2-oil mixture is passed to a separator vessel where pressure is reduced, causing the CO2 to revert to gas and release the extracted oil.

4

CO2 Recovery & Recirculation

Released CO2 gas is recompressed, condensed, and recirculated back into the extraction cycle, minimising solvent consumption.

5

Collection & Quality Control

The extracted Cumin Oil is collected and each batch is tested against the agreed specification, with test methods defined during process development, before release.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Mechotech supply the complete machinery for Cumin Oil (CO2)?
Yes. Mechotech is a CO2 extraction plant manufacturer and equipment supplier, engineering and fabricating the complete turnkey plant for Cumin Oil (CO2) at our Hyderabad facility, then installing and commissioning it as a single integrated system. Final process parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.
What specification can the Cumin Oil (CO2) plant achieve?
The plant is configured to the client’s target specification for Cumin Oil (CO2); the specification achieved is established during process development and pilot validation, and each batch is released with batch-release testing and certificate-of-analysis documentation.
What production capacities are available for the Cumin Oil (CO2) plant?
Capacity for the Cumin Oil (CO2) plant is configured to raw-material supply, confirmed buyer volume and investment timeline, starting at pilot scale; a pilot plant is recommended to validate parameters before scaling.
Which industries use the Cumin Oil (CO2) plant?
The end-use areas listed for Cumin Oil (CO2) on this page are given under Applications. The end use and the target specification are confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
Which part of cumin is processed in the CO2 plant?
The plant part and feed form for Cumin are not fixed on this page and are to be confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
How is cumin oil produced by supercritical CO2 extraction?
Prepared raw material is charged into a high-pressure SS 316L extraction vessel where CO2, pressurised and heated past its critical point, draws out the oil. Pressure is reduced in a separator vessel so the CO2 reverts to gas and releases the oil; the CO2 is recompressed, condensed and recirculated.
Does Mechotech list other routes or related plants for Cumin Oil (CO2)?
Yes. This page covers the supercritical CO2 route. Cumin is also listed as a steam-distillation seed oil plant (Cumin) and as an oleoresin extraction plant (Cumin Oleoresin).
How does Cumin oil by CO₂ differ from the other cumin pages?
This page covers supercritical CO₂ extraction. Cumin seed is also listed as Cumin (steam distillation) and as an oleoresin; the Sureka Life Sciences catalogue lists cuminaldehyde as the marker of the CO₂ oil. Each route gives a different product, so the route follows the buyer’s specification.
