Ravensara Leaves Oils Distillation Plants — Mechotech

Ravensara

Mechotech designs and manufactures turnkey leaves oils distillation plants for Ravensara. The catalogue lists the plant feed as leaves, and Mechotech’s legacy page text describes steam distillation of ravensara oil. The plant recovers essential oil by distillation for the catalogue’s fragrance, aromatherapy, cosmetic, food and pharmaceutical industries. The Sureka Life Sciences (SLS) catalogue lists Ravensara Leaves Distillation with Cryptocarya agathophylla as the botanical source and limonene as the marker compound; Mechotech’s legacy page text does not name a species. The exact species and feed form are confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.

Mechotech’s Ravensara plant is configured around the raw material and the target oil. It is built in SS 316L with integrated condensers and oil–water separation, PLC-based automation and full documentation, and is delivered as a commissioned turnkey system. The distillation mode and operating parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.

Manufacturing Process

1

Raw Material Preparation

Ravensara leaves are sorted and cleaned of twigs and foreign matter and, where required, dried or size-adjusted so that the charge packs evenly in the still.

2

Charging & Distillation

The prepared Ravensara charge is loaded into the SS 316L still and distilled by steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected during process development for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil.

3

Condensation

Vapours pass through a multi-tube condenser with chilled-water circulation, condensing the oil and hydrosol.

4

Oil–Water Separation

Condensate is separated in a stainless-steel Florentine flask; the oil is collected and the hydrosol is drawn off and can be recovered as a co-product.

5

Polishing & Drying

The crude oil is polish-filtered and dried over anhydrous sodium sulphate or by vacuum to remove residual moisture.

6

Quality Control

Each batch is sampled for GC-MS profile and physical parameters — specific gravity, refractive index, optical rotation — against the client’s specification.

Plant Output

Ravensara essential oilAromatic hydrosol (co-product)

Applications

  • Respiratory-support products
  • Skin-care and lip-care products
  • Muscle and joint-care products
  • Aromatherapy and wellness applications

Key Features

  • SS 316L Construction

Product-contact surfaces are SS 316L for corrosion resistance and product purity, with CIP capability between batches.

  • Efficient Condensation

Multi-tube condensers with chilled-water circulation condense the volatile oil and hydrosol and limit loss of volatile top-notes.

  • Configurable Distillation Mode

The still is configured for steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected during process development for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil.

  • Hydrosol Recovery

Integrated oil–water separation allows the aromatic hydrosol to be drawn off and recovered as a co-product.

  • Scalable Capacity

Plants are configured to requirement from pilot scale upward, with modular expansion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Mechotech supply the complete machinery for Ravensara?
Yes. Mechotech supplies the complete turnkey plant for Ravensara — engineered, fabricated at our Hyderabad facility, installed and commissioned as a single integrated system. Final process parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.
What specification can the Ravensara plant achieve?
The plant is configured to the client’s target specification for Ravensara; the specification achieved is established during process development and pilot validation, and each batch is released with batch-release testing and certificate-of-analysis documentation.
What production capacities are available for the Ravensara plant?
Capacity for the Ravensara plant is configured to raw-material supply, confirmed buyer volume and investment timeline, starting at pilot scale; a pilot plant is recommended to validate parameters before scaling.
Which end uses are listed for the Ravensara plant?
For this oil, the Sureka Life Sciences catalogue lists respiratory support, viral and skin defences, muscle and joint relief and mental well-being among its application areas; these are catalogue use areas, not performance claims by Mechotech.
Which part of Ravensara is processed in the distillation plant?
The product tree lists Ravensara as leaves, under Leaves Oils Distillation Plants, and Mechotech’s legacy page describes steam distillation of ravensara oil. The exact feed form, such as fresh or dried leaf, is confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
How is Ravensara oil produced in the plant?
The prepared Ravensara charge is loaded into an SS 316L still and distilled by steam, hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation, selected for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil. Vapours are condensed in a multi-tube condenser, the oil and hydrosol are separated in a Florentine flask, and the crude oil is polish-filtered and dried before GC-MS and physical-parameter testing.
What is the botanical source and marker compound of Ravensara on this page?
The Sureka Life Sciences catalogue entry for Ravensara Leaves Distillation lists Cryptocarya agathophylla as the botanical source and limonene as the marker compound. Mechotech’s legacy page text names no species, so the botanical source rests on the catalogue entry alone. The target oil specification is confirmed with the client during process development.
How does Ravensara differ from Ravintsara?
They are two separate entries in Mechotech’s product tree and in the Sureka Life Sciences catalogue. The catalogue lists Ravensara as Cryptocarya agathophylla with limonene as the marker, and Ravintsara as Cinnamomum camphora with 1,8-cineole. The names are similar, so confirm the species, the marker and the target oil with the client before choosing a page.
Which neighbouring plants does the product tree list with Ravensara?
Mechotech’s product tree lists these plants next to Ravensara: Peppermint, Ravintsara and Rhododendron Ledum. The hub is Leaves Oils Distillation Plants.
