Magnolia / White Champac Leaves Oils Distillation Plants — Mechotech

Magnolia / White Champac

Mechotech designs and manufactures turnkey distillation plants for Magnolia / White Champac flowers and blossoms. Mechotech’s legacy page describes a plant for the essential oil of Magnolia and White Champaca blossoms using steam distillation. The plant recovers the essential oil, with the aromatic hydrosol drawn off as a co-product. This page covers the distillation route; the solvent-extraction route to a magnolia concrete and absolute is on the Magnolia page, and Champa has its own page.

Mechotech’s Magnolia / White Champac plant is configured around the flower feedstock and the target oil. It is built in SS 316L with integrated condensers and oil–water separation, PLC-based automation and full documentation, and is delivered as a commissioned turnkey system. The distillation mode and operating parameters are established during process development and pilot validation. The product tree lists the page in the leaves oils distillation group, while the legacy catalogue lists it among floral distillation plants; the raw material is the flower / blossom in both.

Manufacturing Process

1

Raw Material Preparation

Magnolia / White Champac flowers and blossoms are sorted and cleaned of foreign matter so that the charge packs evenly in the still; the feed form and the time from harvest to distillation are set with the client.

2

Charging & Distillation

The prepared charge is loaded into the SS 316L still and distilled, by steam as described on the legacy page, with hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation evaluated during process development for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil.

3

Condensation

Vapours pass through a multi-tube condenser with chilled-water circulation, condensing the oil and hydrosol.

4

Oil–Water Separation

Condensate is separated in a stainless-steel Florentine flask; the oil is collected and the hydrosol is drawn off and can be recovered as a co-product.

5

Polishing & Drying

The crude oil is polish-filtered and dried over anhydrous sodium sulphate or by vacuum to remove residual moisture.

6

Quality Control & Packing

Each batch is sampled for GC-MS profile and physical parameters — specific gravity, refractive index, optical rotation — against the client’s specification, then packed and stored with batch documentation.

Major Plant Equipment

  • Flower cleaning and sorting system
  • Perforated basket or false-bottom charge support
  • SS 316L distillation still / extractor
  • Multi-tube condenser with chilled-water circulation
  • Stainless-steel Florentine flask (oil–water separator)
  • Polish filtration system
  • Drying unit (anhydrous sodium sulphate or vacuum)
  • CIP system

Plant Output

Magnolia / White Champac essential oilAromatic hydrosol (co-product)

Applications

  • Aromatherapy and wellness products
  • Natural perfumery and fine fragrance
  • Cosmetics and personal care
  • Spa and massage oil products

Key Features

  • SS 316L Construction

Product-contact surfaces are SS 316L for corrosion resistance and product purity, with CIP capability between batches.

  • Efficient Condensation

Multi-tube condensers with chilled-water circulation condense the volatile oil and hydrosol and limit loss of volatile top-notes.

  • Configurable Distillation Mode

The still is configured for steam distillation, with hydro, vacuum or pressure distillation evaluated during process development for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the target oil.

  • Hydrosol Recovery

Integrated oil–water separation allows the aromatic hydrosol to be drawn off and recovered as a co-product.

  • Scalable Capacity

Plants are configured to requirement from pilot scale upward, with modular expansion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Mechotech supply the complete machinery for Magnolia / White Champac?
Yes. Mechotech supplies the complete turnkey plant for Magnolia / White Champac — engineered, fabricated at our Hyderabad facility, installed and commissioned as a single integrated system. Final process parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.
What specification can the Magnolia / White Champac plant achieve?
The plant is configured to the client’s target specification for Magnolia / White Champac; the specification achieved is established during process development and pilot validation, and each batch is released with batch-release testing and certificate-of-analysis documentation.
What production capacities are available for the Magnolia / White Champac plant?
Capacity for the Magnolia / White Champac plant is configured to raw-material supply, confirmed buyer volume and investment timeline, starting at pilot scale; a pilot plant is recommended to validate parameters before scaling.
Which industries use the Magnolia / White Champac distillation plant?
Mechotech’s legacy page for this plant lists aromatherapy and wellness products, natural perfumery and fine fragrance, cosmetics and personal care, and spa and massage oil products, among others. The end use and the target specification are confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
Which part and species are processed in the Magnolia / White Champac plant?
The product tree and the legacy page list the flowers and blossoms. No source for this page names the species or a botanical name: the Sureka Life Sciences catalogue has a Magnolia Leaves Distillation entry (leaves, Magnolia grandiflora) but no flower or blossom distillation entry, so no botanical name or marker is taken from it. The species and the exact feed form are confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
How is Magnolia / White Champac oil produced in the plant?
The prepared flower charge is loaded into an SS 316L still and distilled; the legacy page describes steam distillation, and other modes are evaluated during process development. Vapours are condensed in a multi-tube condenser, the oil and hydrosol are separated in a Florentine flask, and the crude oil is polish-filtered and dried before GC-MS and physical-parameter testing.
Why is a flower oil plant listed under Leaves Oils Distillation Plants?
The product tree lists Magnolia / White Champac (Flowers / Blossoms) in the leaves oils distillation group, while the legacy Mechotech catalogue listed it with the floral distillation plants. The feed is the flower or blossom either way. Related hubs are Leaves Oils Distillation Plants and Flower & Buds Oils Distillation Plants.
How does this page differ from the Magnolia and Champa pages?
This page covers distillation of magnolia / white champac flowers to an essential oil and hydrosol. Magnolia covers the solvent-extraction route to a floral concrete and absolute, and its legacy text names Magnolia grandiflora, Magnolia champaca and Magnolia alba. Champa covers an absolute of Michelia champaca (synonym Magnolia champaka). The sources do not state whether the flower on this page is the same as the Champa raw material, so the pages are kept separate and the species is confirmed with the client.
Does this page have a catalogue marker or standard?
No marker or standardisation figure is listed for Magnolia / White Champac in the product tree or the legacy page, and the Sureka Life Sciences catalogue has no matching flower distillation entry. The oil specification is agreed with the buyer and established during process development, with GC-MS profile and physical parameters used to check each batch.
