Purity Levels

Rind

Mechotech designs and manufactures turnkey leaves oils distillation plants for Lemon, standardised to Rind. As a lemon oil extraction plant manufacturer, we supply the complete machinery to process Lemon into a consistent, specification-grade essential oil for the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food, and fragrance industries, with plants installed across India and export markets.

Mechotech's Lemon plant is engineered from first principles around the specific chemistry and processing requirements of Lemon. Built in SS 316L with integrated condensers and oil-water separation, automation, and full documentation, each plant is delivered as a commissioned, performance-verified turnkey system that reliably meets the Rind specification.

Manufacturing Process

1

Raw Material Preparation

Lemon raw material is cleaned, sorted, and (where required) comminuted to the optimal particle size to maximise oil release during distillation.

2

Charging & Extraction

As a citrus peel oil, Lemon rind is most commonly processed by cold-press (expression) — a purely mechanical method that avoids heat and preserves the top-note aroma compounds. Where distillation is the target route instead, the prepared charge is loaded into the SS 316L still and distilled by steam, hydro, vacuum, or pressure distillation, selected for the volatility and heat-sensitivity of the oil.

3

Condensation

Vapours pass through an efficient multi-tube condenser with chilled-water circulation, condensing the volatile oil and hydrosol.

4

Oil–Water Separation

Condensate is separated in a stainless-steel Florentine flask; the essential oil is collected while the hydrosol is drawn off (and can be recovered as a co-product).

5

Polishing & Drying

The crude oil is polish-filtered and dried over anhydrous sodium sulphate (or by vacuum) to remove residual moisture.

6

Quality Control

Each batch of Lemon oil is verified by GC-MS and physical parameters (specific gravity, refractive index, optical rotation) before release.

Applications

  • Pharmaceutical standardised ingredient supply
  • Nutraceutical capsule, tablet, and supplement manufacturing
  • Food, flavour, and beverage applications
  • Cosmetic and personal care active ingredients
  • Ayurvedic and traditional medicine preparations
  • Export to regulated-market ingredient buyers

Key Features

  • SS 316L Construction

All product-contact surfaces are SS 316L for corrosion resistance and product purity, with CIP capability between batches.

  • Efficient Condensation

High-surface-area multi-tube condensers with chilled-water circulation maximise oil recovery and minimise losses of volatile top-notes.

  • Cold-Press / Expression or Distillation

Configured as a cold-press (expression) extractor for citrus peel, or as a still for steam / hydro / vacuum / pressure distillation, matched to the feedstock and protecting heat-sensitive aroma compounds.

  • Hydrosol Recovery

Integrated separation allows recovery of the aromatic hydrosol as a saleable co-product, improving plant economics.

  • Scalable Capacity

Plants are configured from pilot to multi-tonne commercial scale with modular expansion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Mechotech supply the complete machinery for Lemon?
Yes. Mechotech supplies the complete turnkey plant for Lemon — engineered, fabricated at our Hyderabad facility, installed, and commissioned as a single performance-verified system that produces specification-grade output from day one of handover.
What specification can the Lemon plant achieve?
The plant is engineered to reliably reach Rind, confirmed by batch-release testing with full certificate-of-analysis documentation.
What production capacities are available for the Lemon plant?
Mechotech builds Lemon plants from pilot systems for product development to multi-tonne commercial plants. Capacity is selected from raw-material supply, confirmed buyer volume, and investment timeline; we recommend a pilot plant to validate parameters before scaling.
Which industries use the Lemon plant?
Pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food and flavour, cosmetic, and fragrance manufacturers across India and export markets use Mechotech plants for consistent, compliant production.
Is Lemon oil produced by cold-press or by distillation?
Lemon is a citrus peel oil, and industrially it is most commonly produced by cold-press (expression) rather than distillation, since expression avoids heat and preserves the top-note aroma compounds. Mechotech can configure the plant as a cold-press extractor or as a still for steam/hydro/vacuum/pressure distillation, depending on your target process and product specification.
Who supplies lemon oil extraction plants and equipment?
Mechotech is a lemon oil extraction plant manufacturer and equipment supplier, engineering and fabricating the complete extraction line — cold-press or still, condenser, Florentine separator, and drying — at our Hyderabad facility for buyers in India and export markets.
