Tuberose Floral Concrete & Absolute Extraction Plants — Mechotech

Tuberose

Mechotech designs and manufactures turnkey floral concrete & absolute extraction plants for Tuberose. The product tree lists the entry as Tuberose under Floral Concrete & Absolute Extraction Plants, and Mechotech’s legacy page for the Tuberose Concrete & Absolute Extraction Plant describes cold food-grade hexane maceration of tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa, rajnigandha) flowers followed by ethanol washing, with benzyl alcohol, benzyl benzoate, methyl benzoate and farnesol named as the defining compounds of the absolute. The Sureka Life Sciences (SLS) catalogue lists a Tuberose Extract with Polianthes tuberosa as the botanical source and a 9–30% methyl benzoate offering grade. This page is the solvent-extraction route; the distillation route is on the Tube Rose page. The exact flower form is confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.

Mechotech’s Tuberose plant is configured around the raw material and the target extract. It is built in SS 316L with integrated solvent recovery, automation and full documentation, and is delivered as a commissioned turnkey system. Mechotech’s legacy page describes cold maceration in food-grade hexane, filtration of the miscella, vacuum evaporation to a concrete, washing of the concrete with ethanol, and chilling and recovery of the absolute. The solvent, conditions and the concrete or absolute grade for a given project are established during process development and pilot validation.

Manufacturing Process

1

Raw Material Preparation

Fresh tuberose flowers are collected and inspected on receipt, then sorted and cleaned of stalks and debris; the legacy page treats the flowers as fresh material, so the time between picking and extraction and the handling are set with the client.

2

Extraction

The flowers are macerated in cold food-grade hexane in closed jacketed SS 316L vessels, which dissolves the aromatic compounds together with natural plant waxes. The solvent, the contact time and the temperature are set during process development.

3

Filtration

The extract (miscella) is clarified through a plate-and-frame filter press followed by cartridge polish filters.

4

Concentration & Solvent Recovery

The miscella is concentrated in a falling-film / vacuum evaporator, with solvent recovered through the condenser return system.

5

Standardisation

The legacy page’s steps continue with miscella filtration, vacuum evaporation to a concrete and ethanol washing of the concrete to an absolute; the concentrate is assayed and adjusted to the client’s target specification, with methyl benzoate as the catalogue marker, before final finishing.

6

Finishing & Quality Control

The ethanol solution is chilled and filtered to remove precipitated waxes, and the ethanol is stripped and recovered to leave the absolute. Each batch is sampled for GC-MS profile and physical parameters against the client’s specification before release.

Integrated condenser-return recovery reuses solvent between batches and reduces solvent loss.

  • Standardised to Specification

In-process and batch-release assay are used to check the finished extract against the agreed target specification.

  • Scalable Batch Capacity

Plants are configured to requirement from pilot scale upward, with modular expansion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Mechotech supply the complete machinery for Tuberose?
Yes. Mechotech supplies the complete turnkey plant for Tuberose — engineered, fabricated at our Hyderabad facility, installed and commissioned as a single integrated system. Final process parameters are established during process development and pilot validation.
What specification can the Tuberose plant achieve?
The plant is configured to the client’s target specification for Tuberose; the specification achieved is established during process development and pilot validation, and batch-release testing with certificate-of-analysis documentation is defined with the client.
What production capacities are available for the Tuberose plant?
Capacity for the Tuberose plant is configured to raw-material supply, confirmed buyer volume and investment timeline, starting at pilot scale; a pilot plant is recommended to validate parameters before scaling.
Which industries use the Tuberose concrete and absolute plant?
Mechotech’s legacy page says tuberose absolute commands among the highest prices in the global floral absolute market, and the Sureka Life Sciences catalogue lists emotional and mental health, physical relaxation, respiratory support, skincare and perfumery among its application areas; these are catalogue use areas, not performance claims by Mechotech. The end use and the target specification are confirmed with the client.
How is Tuberose extract produced in Mechotech’s extraction plant?
Fresh tuberose flowers are macerated in cold food-grade hexane, the miscella is filtered and concentrated under vacuum to a concrete with solvent recovery, the concrete is washed with ethanol, and the ethanol solution is chilled and filtered to remove waxes before the ethanol is recovered, leaving the absolute. The solvent, conditions and grade are set during process development and pilot validation.
Which part of Tuberose is processed, and which species?
Mechotech’s legacy page describes the fresh flowers of Polianthes tuberosa (rajnigandha), and the Sureka Life Sciences entry names the same species. The exact flower form and the handling between picking and extraction are confirmed with the client before the plant is configured.
What is the difference between tuberose concrete and absolute?
According to Mechotech’s legacy page, the cold hexane extraction leaves a concrete after the solvent is removed, and washing that concrete with ethanol removes the waxes to give the absolute. The plant is configured to stop at concrete or to continue to absolute, as the buyer requires.
How does this page differ from the Tube Rose page?
Tube Rose is the same flower on the distillation route to an essential oil, listed under Flower & Buds Oils Distillation Plants, whereas this page is the solvent-extraction route to a concrete and absolute. The product, the route and the specification differ.
Is residual solvent a consideration?
Yes. Hexane and ethanol are used, so residual-solvent testing is part of batch release and the solvent-stripping steps are set during process development. The limit for a product is defined in the buyer’s specification, not assumed here.
Why is the Sureka Life Sciences CAS number not used here?
The Sureka Life Sciences entry for Tuberose Extract gives CAS 8024-05-3, which the same catalogue also lists for its Rose Concrete and Rose Absolute entries, which are different flowers. The sources do not explain the overlap, so no CAS number is stated on this page.
Which equipment finishes the tuberose concrete and absolute?
After solvent extraction, the solution is clarified on a Filter Press and concentrated in a Falling Film Evaporator with solvent recovery, then stripped of residual solvent to give the concrete, which is washed with ethanol to the absolute. The finishing form is agreed with the client.
Which related floral pages does Mechotech list?
The hub is Floral Concrete & Absolute Extraction Plants. In the product tree, Tuberose sits next to Rose Concrete & Absolute and the distillation entries Tube Rose and Rose Essential Oil; for another flower on the same route see Jasmine.
