Garcinia Cambogia Extract

Garcinia Cambogia Extract
Purity Levels
60% Hydroxycitric Acid by HPLC
Mechotech designs and manufactures turnkey herbal extraction plants for Garcinia Cambogia (Garcinia gummi-gutta, syn. Garcinia cambogia), a fruit whose dried rind is the commercial source of hydroxycitric acid (HCA), a citric-acid derivative studied for its role in fatty-acid synthesis and weight-management supplementation. We supply the complete machinery — rind cleaning, size reduction, aqueous/hydro-alcoholic extraction, filtration, concentration, closed-loop solvent recovery, standardisation and drying — to convert dried Garcinia rind into a consistent extract standardised to 60% Hydroxycitric Acid by HPLC for the nutraceutical, food, and dietary-supplement industries.
Mechotech's Garcinia Cambogia plant is engineered around the specific chemistry of the rind's principal active: hydroxycitric acid is a polar, water-soluble organic acid, so the process is built around a controlled aqueous or hydro-alcoholic extraction system that favours HCA solubility while limiting co-extraction of unwanted rind pigments and tannins. Built in SS 316L with electropolished product-contact surfaces, PLC-SCADA automation and complete batch documentation, each plant is delivered as a commissioned turnkey system configured to the declared 60% Hydroxycitric Acid By HPLC specification (lower-grade material also achievable on the same line).

Manufacturing Process
Raw Material Cleaning & Size Reduction
Dried Garcinia cambogia rind is cleaned to remove foreign matter and residual pulp, then mechanically reduced to a uniform particle size to maximise surface area for extraction.
Aqueous / Hydro-Alcoholic Extraction
Milled rind is charged into closed, jacketed SS 316L extraction vessels and extracted with a controlled water or hydro-alcoholic solvent system across multiple extraction cycles, favouring the polar solubility of hydroxycitric acid.
Solid-Liquid Separation & Filtration
The extract is clarified through a plate-and-frame filter press followed by cartridge polish filters to remove spent rind fibre and suspended pigment before concentration.
Decolourisation
The clarified extract is treated to reduce natural rind pigments and tannin-related colour bodies, improving the appearance and stability of the finished powder.
Vacuum Concentration
The treated extract is concentrated in a falling-film / vacuum evaporator under reduced pressure, reducing solvent/water load ahead of drying while protecting HCA content.
Solvent Recovery
Where hydro-alcoholic solvent is used, a closed-loop recovery system condenses and recycles it back into production, reducing operating cost.
Standardisation
The concentrate is assayed by HPLC and adjusted to the declared specification — 60% Hydroxycitric Acid by HPLC — before drying.
Drying & Quality Control
The standardised extract is spray- or vacuum-tray dried to a free-flowing, low-moisture powder, then released after assay, residual-solvent, heavy-metal, microbial, and moisture testing with full certificate-of-analysis documentation.

Key Features
GMP Hygienic SS 316L Construction
Electropolished SS 316L product-contact surfaces use GMP hygienic design, with CIP operation between batches.
Aqueous-Favouring Extraction System
The extraction system is tuned to the water-soluble chemistry of hydroxycitric acid, improving recovery without unnecessary solvent load.
Integrated Decolourisation
A dedicated decolourisation stage reduces rind pigment carryover, giving a lighter, more consistent finished powder.
Closed-Loop Solvent Recovery
Where hydro-alcoholic solvent is used, integrated recovery returns solvent per batch.
Standardised to Specification
In-process and batch-release HPLC assay are used to check the finished extract against its declared 60% Hydroxycitric Acid specification.
Scalable Batch Capacity
Plants are configured to requirement from pilot scale upward, with modular expansion.
