Tribulus Terrestris Extract

Tribulus Terrestris Extract
Purity Levels
40% to 60% Saponins by Gravimetry
Mechotech designs and manufactures turnkey herbal extraction plants for Tribulus Terrestris, a fruit-bearing herb whose dried fruit (and, in some sourcing, aerial parts) contains furostanol saponins such as protodioscin, compounds widely used in sports-nutrition and vitality-support supplement formulations. We supply the complete machinery — fruit cleaning, size reduction, hydro-alcoholic extraction, filtration, concentration, closed-loop solvent recovery, standardisation and drying — to convert dried Tribulus terrestris fruit into a consistent extract standardised to 40% to 60% Saponins by Gravimetry for the nutraceutical and sports-supplement industries.
Mechotech's Tribulus Terrestris plant is engineered around the specific chemistry of the fruit's steroidal saponin fraction: furostanol saponins are moderately polar glycosides recovered efficiently through a controlled hydro-alcoholic solvent system, and the finished-extract specification is confirmed by gravimetric total-saponin assay rather than a single-marker HPLC method, requiring tight process control over concentration and drying to hold a consistent total-saponin yield. Built in SS 316L with electropolished product-contact surfaces, PLC-SCADA automation and complete batch documentation, each plant is delivered as a commissioned turnkey system engineered to the declared 40% to 60% Saponins by Gravimetry specification.

Manufacturing Process
Raw Material Cleaning & Size Reduction
Dried Tribulus terrestris fruit is cleaned to remove soil, spines, and foreign matter, then mechanically reduced to a uniform particle size to maximise solvent contact ahead of extraction.
Hydro-Alcoholic Extraction
Milled fruit is charged into closed, jacketed SS 316L extraction vessels and extracted with a controlled hydro-alcoholic solvent system across multiple extraction cycles to recover the furostanol saponin fraction.
Solid-Liquid Separation & Filtration
The extract slurry is clarified through a plate-and-frame filter press followed by cartridge polish filters, removing spent fruit fibre and fine particulate before concentration.
Vacuum Concentration
The filtered miscella is concentrated in a falling-film / vacuum evaporator under reduced pressure and controlled temperature to reduce solvent load while protecting the saponin content.
Solvent Recovery
A closed-loop recovery system condenses and recycles the recovered solvent back into production.
Standardisation
The concentrate is assayed by gravimetric total-saponin analysis and adjusted to the declared specification — 40% to 60% Saponins by Gravimetry — before drying.
Drying & Quality Control
The standardised extract is spray- or vacuum-tray dried to a free-flowing, low-moisture powder, then released after assay, residual-solvent, heavy-metal, microbial, and moisture testing with full certificate-of-analysis documentation.

Key Features
GMP Hygienic SS 316L Construction
Electropolished SS 316L product-contact surfaces use GMP hygienic design, with CIP operation between batches.
Closed-Loop Solvent Recovery
Integrated recovery condenses and recycles solvent per batch for reuse.
Gravimetric Standardisation Control
In-process and batch-release gravimetric assay are used to check the finished extract against its declared 40% to 60% total-saponin specification, batch after batch.
Integrated Drying
A matched spray/vacuum dryer produces a free-flowing, low-moisture powder ready for encapsulation and blending.
Consistent Solvent-Ratio Control
Regulated hydro-alcoholic solvent ratios and extraction cycles are held constant batch-to-batch to keep total-saponin recovery repeatable at scale.
Scalable Batch Capacity
Plants are configured to requirement from pilot scale upward, with modular expansion.
